Rinse green beans in a colander under running water. Shake to dry.

Trim the ends: snap off non-edible ends or cut tips of multiple beans with a knife.

Remove tough strings from the sides of the beans, if any.

Fill a large pot with 4 quarts of water. Add 1 tablespoon of salt per quart.

Prepare an ice bath: fill a large bowl with ice cubes and water.

Boil green beans for 3-5 minutes until tender-crisp and bright green.

Transfer beans to ice bath immediately. Once cool, drain and they’re ready to use!
