Experience Coco Bread: The Sweet and Savory Delight from the Caribbean!

Mix coconut milk, sugar, salt, and butter in a bowl. Microwave for around 30 seconds until the butter is melted, being careful not to overheat or boil.

Combine yeast and egg in a mixing bowl. Gradually stir in flour to form a soft dough. Knead for 3-4 minutes on a lightly floured surface.

Place in a greased bowl  and let rise for 1-2 hours until doubled. Punch down.

Transfer the dough onto a floured surface, divide into 10 equal pieces, and shape each into a ball.

Use a rolling pin to flatten each ball into a 6-7 inch, ⅛-¼ inch thick circle.

Brush melted butter over the dough, fold in half, and place on the prepared pan. Repeat with remaining pieces. Allow to rest for 10-15 minutes. Bake in a 350 F preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until nicely browned on top.

Remove from the oven and let cool for about 5 minutes. Brush again with butter, if desired. Serve warm or allow to cool. You may freeze when cool and reheat in the oven.
