Should you soak raw potatoes before frying? Soaking before frying removes excess starch - helps fry crisper. Putting in water keeps from turning dark before you have a chance to cook them.

How long do you soak potatoes before frying? At least an hour. Mine is overnight. They’ll be adequate for two days if in the fridge - completely covered with water.

Potatoes are usually best served hot off the stove. I love this for breakfast, just add some scrambled eggs and pour a cup of coffee, and you’re good to go.
