Perfect Flaky Crust Apple Pie

Create the Base

Roll out homemade pie crust into a 12-inch round. Cut strips for lattice or cover pie whole.

Fit into a 9-inch pie plate, trim, and decorate edges. Chill for 45 minutes.

Prep the Apples

Peel, core, and slice apples (1/4"-1/2" thick). Soak in lemon water. Drain and mix with brown sugar, spices, lemon juice, and cornstarch for the filling.

Fill & Assemble

Arrange apple slices in the prepared pie crust. Dot with butter. Add lattice or cover with a whole crust. 

Brush with egg wash, sprinkle with turbinado sugar.

Bake to Perfection

Cover edges with foil or a pie shield. Bake at 375°F for 40-45 minutes on a baking sheet. Remove foil in the last 15 minutes for a golden brown crust and bubbly filling.

Indulge in Warmth

When done, allow the pie to cool slightly. Serve warm, letting the aroma of spiced apples and flaky crust tantalize your senses.
