Blue Cheese Dressing

Blue Cheese Dressing - a creamy smooth and chunky dressing made primarily with crumbled blue cheese, mayonnaise, buttermilk, sour cream and a dash of hot sauce and chives. Better than most store-bought ones. It's the tastiest blue cheese dressing you'll ever have in your life!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (232 g) mayonnaise
  • ½ cup (66 g) crumbled blue cheese
  • ¼ cup (58 g) sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon (3 g) minced garlic
  • ½ teaspoon (2.5 g) kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon (12.5 g) sugar
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) white vinegar
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon (3 g) fresh chives
  • 1 teaspoon (5 g) hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon (5 g) Worcestershire
  • 1 teaspoon grated onion
  • ¼  cup (61 g) buttermilk

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl  combine mayonnaise, half of the blue cheese, sour cream or yogurt, lemon juice, garlic, salt, sugar, vinegar, black pepper, chives, hot sauce, Worcestershire and onion; either whisk with a fork or blend using a blender or mixer.
  • Whisk or blend thoroughly until smooth.
  • Stir in remaining blue cheese.
  • Pour in buttermilk, a little at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
  • Refrigerate for about 2 hours before serving.

Notes

  1. Can last for about 2 weeks in the refrigerator when sealed in an airtight container.
  2. If using for a blue chip dip you can make it a little thicker and a little thinner for salad dressing.
  3. You can use a blender to mix up the ingredients for the dressing.
