Seasoned Salt - An all-around seasoning enriched with a blend of spices that will surely give any dish an exceptional flavor boost. Simply store it in a jar and you'll have a quick seasoning that comes in handy in no time. This makes an amazing meat rub, marinade, and seasoning, too.

Ingredients

  • cup (1.7 g) Kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon (7 g) black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon (12.5 g) white granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon (7 g) paprika
  • 2 teaspoons (4 g) onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons (4 g) garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon (2 g) chili powder
  • ¼ teaspoon (0.5 g) cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon (2 g) cornstarch, optional

Optional Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon (2 g) cumin
  • ½ teaspoon (1 g) ground mustard
  • ½ teaspoon (1 g) ground turmeric

Instructions

  • Place all the ingredients - salt, pepper, sugar, paprika, onion, garlic & chili powder, cayenne pepper, and cornstarch in a coffee grinder. The rest of the ingredients are optional - cumin, ground mustard, and ground tumeric. Add if desired or available.
  • Pulse several times until finely ground and thoroughly combined.
  • Store in an airtight container

Notes

  1. Due to sudden changes in weather, this seasoning may tend to clump up. You can prevent this by adding cornstarch or dried beans.
  2. It is best to store this homemade seasoning in an airtight container or glass jar.
  3. Store in a cool, dry, and dark area.
