Crunchies, a popular South African oatmeal snack bar, is nutty, buttery, sweet, and satisfyingly crunchy.

If you can't find Crunchies in your local stores, don't worry - they're easy to make at home with just a few simple ingredients and a little bit of baking.


Made with oats, coconut, and honey, Crunchies are not only delicious but also packed with  healthy nutrients.

Melt butter, syrup, sugars, and salt in a saucepan or microwave-safe bowl. Add baking soda and mix.

Mix oatmeal, flour, coconut, sliced almonds, and spices in a large bowl.

Pour butter mixture into the bowl of oatmeal mixture , mix well.

Press mixture into a greased baking pan. You may use parchment paper to smooth it out.

Bake at 325°F for 10-15 mins, then reduce to 300°F and bake until golden brown.

Check after 20 mins. Cool, cut into squares and serve. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
