Sweet and Fluffy Mexican Treat You Can't Resist!

Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Add shortening/butter and mix until coarse.

Then make a well then add milk and water.

Knead dough for about 30 seconds to 1 minute to form soft, moist  dough. Divide dough in half.

Place one half of the dough onto a lightly floured board or surface.

Roll the dough thinly (between 1/4 and 1/8 inch). Halve the circles and make a slit on each piece. Cut into desired shapes and repeat for the other half.

Heat vegetable oil in a skillet to 350-375°F. Fry pieces until golden brown on both sides (1-2 mins per side), then drain on paper napkin and let cool. Serve warm with honey and/or cinnamon sugar.
