Instructions

  • Choose a board - There are many options: Chopping boards, marble slabs, serving trays, or even a large plate. Use whatever you have on hand because it's the food that will make the biggest impression.
  • Gather Your Utensils - You will need a few small bowls, small forks and spoons for serving, and knives for cutting up fruit, cheeses, etc. You may even want to include a tiny syrup pitcher if waffles or pancakes will make an appearance.
  • Chop or slice any fruit, veggies, meats, and cheeses that need to be cut up.
  • On a clean board, start laying out items beginning with the larger items first. Don't worry if things don't work out exactly as you imagined.
  • Any homemade items should be made in advance. Scones, bagels, mini pancakes, and waffles can be made weeks in advance and frozen.
  • Put dips and smaller items in small bowls or cups and place them around the board.
  • Fill in the nooks and crannies with smaller items like fruits, snacks, bread, or whatever you'd like.
  • Remember, there is only one rule when creating charcuterie boards: Make it work for you and your guests. Enjoy!

Notes

  1. Check out HomeGoods for the best selections if you want a charcuterie board. You can also check Amazon if you don't have a HomeGoods near you. They also have a huge variety of options.
  2. Try to place warm items separate from those served cold or at room temperature as much as possible. Garnishes and ramekins with dips or sauces can sometimes work as separators.
  3. Start with cold cuts of meat and put out the cooked breakfast meats and eggs later. Avoid leaving them at room temperature for too long for food safety reasons.
  4. Please remember that the nutritional information is a rough estimate and can vary significantly based on the products used in the recipe, especially on this recipe since the options are endless.
