Mustard BBQ Sauce
Grilling season is here, and I just had to share one of my favorite BBQ sauces, Mustard BBQ Sauce. While most BBQ sauces are tomato-based and require hours of cooking over a wood fire to get that wonderful smoked flavor, this one is as fast and easy as collecting your ingredients and mixing them in a bowl.

1 cup yellow mustard ¼ cup honey 2 teaspoons minced garlic ¼ cup minced onion 3 tablespoons (37.5 g) light brown sugar ⅓ cup (2 fl oz) apple cider vinegar 1-2 tablespoons (14.7-29.4 g) ketchup 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper Salt to taste 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
In a medium bowl, combine mustard, honey, minced garlic and onion, brown sugar, vinegar, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and cayenne pepper.
Whisk all the ingredients together until thoroughly mixed.
Season with salt and pepper to taste. Adjust the ingredients to suit your taste buds with more vinegar, salt, and pepper.
Use immediately or store in the refrigerator, covered, for up to 3 weeks.
Put a light coating on the grilled meat, then serve more on the side so everyone can control the amount they want.
If it's too sweet, add a little more mustard or vinegar (not salt ). If it's too tart, add a little more honey or sugar to balance it out.
As with any sauce with sugar in it, wait until the last couple of minutes of grilling to baste the meat. If you put it on sooner, it may burn.
If you're cooking with a smoker, put the sauce on 10-15 minutes before it's done.
