25 Popular Foods That Start With N
An exciting food challenge involving foods that start with N! Why would anyone care about that kinda list? A meal or party based on foods that begin with a certain letter is really fun. For example, if your hubby’s name starts with N and you want to throw him a party, here’s a list of N foods you can serve.

This list is one of the hardest I’ve been asked to create. It’s surprising how many foods do not start with N. But I gave it my best shot, and here it is. Enjoy nummy noshing with N!
Breakfast Foods that Start with N
1. Naan

This pleasantly chewy flatbread is made from delicate flour (similar to pastry flour), yeast, yogurt, and an egg, then baked in an oven. It is a delicious staple in many Asian countries, especially in India. My recipe includes garlic and thyme, but you can leave them out for a more authentic naan.
2. New Orleans Beignet

3. No-Knead Bread

Bread has been a staple for millennia, and it doesn’t look like our love affair with it will be ending any time soon. Would you like the smell and taste of homemade bread but have no time to make it? This super-easy recipe with simple ingredients is the perfect solution.
4. Natto
Natto is an acquired taste; some compare it to blue cheese. But those who love it can’t live without it. Fermented soybeans in Japan are a breakfast food. Experts claim that fermented foods are essential for our health, so this may be a good place to start.
Delicious Snacks That Start With N
5. Nachos

Layering crispy tortilla chips with salsa, cheese, and jalapenos creates a feast the whole family will remember. Tender chicken and sour cream turn it into a high-protein snack or meal.
6. Naval Oranges
I love snacking on fruit. This one and the two that follow are wonderful and healthy snacks. Navel oranges have a unique flavor, and the belly button is so cute. It also goes really well in a salad. The extra vitamin C helps during the cold and flu season.
7. Nashi Pear
Asian pear, apple pear (due to its shape), Japanese pear, doesn’t really matter what you call it; a pear by any other name is still a pear. This particular fruit is crisp, firm, and juicy, making it perfect for eating fresh or cooking. It’s also high in fiber and nutrition, so it’s a good snack or dessert.
8. Nectarines
I had always considered nectarines to be naked peaches, which they are, genetically speaking. Their flavor is slightly different from a peach, but that doesn’t have to stop you from replacing peaches with them in any recipe.
9. Nori
Seaplants are typical of Asian food. Nori, actually a type of algae, is the dark green sheet surrounding sticky rice, seafood, and fresh veggies in sushi. It’s highly nutritious and has a unique taste that reminds me of the ocean.
10. Nuggets

Whenever I go shopping with my family, they clammer for McDonald’s chicken nuggets. What can I do? I can make a healthier version for them at home, and that’s what I do! Of course, catfish nuggets are just as good.
11. Nutella
Nutella is one of my absolute favorite spreads. Chocolate and hazelnuts (also called filberts) together in a creamy, versatile spread that enhances toast, fruit, or (don’t tell anyone) straight out of the jar on a spoon.
12. Nuts

One of my favorite healthy snacks. Walnuts, hazelnuts, and pistachios are at the top of my list. While we usually think of almonds and peanuts as nuts, they are seeds. So candied nuts aren’t quite as healthy, but regardless, they go in my nut mix, too.
Main Courses and Sides That Start With N
13. Ñame (or Yams)

This incredible vegetable is an excellent replacement for potatoes. No, it’s not a sweet potato. The taste and texture are closer to potatoes. This easy-to-grow vegetable is a staple in most African and Caribbean countries, where it’s almost impossible to grow potatoes.
14. Navy Beans

What can I say? Navy beans are smaller than white beans, but make a good replacement. Besides ramping up the nutritional value of minestrone, they’re perfect in this ham and beans and Southern baked beans. Avocado tuna white bean salad is a refreshing, healthy option.
15. Ndole

This Cameroonian dish from my homeland is my favorite way to eat greens. It’s a peanutty and spinachy dish that’s healthy, too. You can see in the picture that it is wonderful with plantains and shrimp.
16. Nigerian Fried Rice

Chinese people aren’t the only ones who make mouthwatering fried rice. This hearty and spicy dish with shrimp is perfect as a meal all by itself, and an ideal way to get veggies into your family’s diet.
Soups and Salads That Start With N
17. Nasturtiums
Edible flowers are not only delicious but also beautiful. Nasturtiums are a little spicy and make a gorgeous addition to any salad. They are quite peppery; the first time I tried them, they almost took my breath away.
18. Nicoise Salad

A hearty, satisfying salad with tuna, hard-boiled egg, tomatoes, veggies, and a delectable balsamic red wine dressing. Highly indulgent and filling; not your average kind of salad!
19. New England Clam Chowder

A creamy white hearty soup made with fresh tender clams, potatoes, and smoky bacon. Definitely a great comforting dish in the cooler seasons!
20. Napa Cabbage
Make wonderful salads, stir-fries, and the best kimchi. It’s more tender than regular cabbage and, in my opinion, a lot more delicious. You can also replace lettuce with napa cabbage for a refreshing salad.
21. Noodles
I adore noodles, especially lo mein. Noodles are a traditional Asian street food. They’re so versatile that you can use them as a side dish or the main meal by swapping out what you throw in with them. These strips of dough, smothered in whatever kind of sauce you want to pour over them, are so comforting.
Desserts That Start With N
22. Natillas
A delicious creamy custard from Spain made from milk and eggs with just the right spices to make it sweet and comforting. The incredible flavors of vanilla, cinnamon, and lemon combine perfectly for a super-easy dessert.
23. Nectar

Deliciously sweet syrup that flowers produce feeds the bees and gives us sweet honey. I love it in my tea, on my pancakes, or replacing sugar in some of my favorite desserts. It goes exceptionally well in mustard in my honey mustard dressing.
24. Nougat
Nougat comes in many different flavors and seems to have originated in the Middle East. This chewy, delectable sweetness is very similar to merengue: beaten egg whites and sugar or honey folded around chunks of nuts or melted chocolate. I’m so drooling right now.
25. New York Cheesecake

New York cheesecake is reported to be a Jewish invention, and aren’t we glad? Any family dinner or festive party can only get better with this dessert that starts with N. This quick and easy recipe is so worth it.

This looks absolutely delicious!
