Oven-Roasted Corn on the Cob
Oven-roasted corn on the cob is a fantastically simple way to enjoy the amazing tastes of summer. With almost no prep and personal time, you can have moist, beautifully caramelized corn on the cob oozing with flavor. Always spot-on delicious!

I love summer; from warm breezes to fresh vegetables, summer awakens every bit of my soul. Plus, summertime is the best time to enjoy fresh corn. The flavor is at its peak, and it’s the cheapest.
But hey, you can also enjoy the taste of summer while a winter chill is blowing outside. You can now get corn on the cob in the freezer section when you need a bit of sunshine during a blizzard.

Why Oven Roast Corn on the Cob
Having cooking options for corn on the cob delivers the excitement of experimenting. Boiling is the traditional method, and grilling is becoming popular. But the easiest of all is roasting it in the oven. Season it with garlic butter (and a dash of Creole seasoning), wrap it in foil, roast it in a hot oven, and enjoy.

How to Roast Corn on the Cob in the Oven

Roasting Corn on the Cob in Foil
- Preheat the oven to 425℉ (218 ℃). Remove the corn’s husk and silk.
- Spiced Butter – In a small bowl, combine garlic butter and Creole seasoning and set aside. (Photo 1)
- Place corn on the cobs in individual foil and brush with garlic butter. (Photo 2)
- Wrap the corn. Repeat with the remaining corn, then place them on a sheet pan. (Photo 3)
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, turning the tray halfway through roasting. Remove and let rest for a minute or two. Brush with more garlic butter mixture if desired. (Photo 4)
In the Husk Method
- Clean Corn – Cut off excess silk from each ear of corn with a knife or scissors. Remove any loose husks.
- Bake – Place each ear of corn with husk directly onto the oven grates while spacing them out evenly from each other. Bake in a preheated 350℉ (180 ℃) oven for 35 minutes.
- Serve – Allow to cool slightly before removing the husks, and slather them with garlic butter (or regular butter and salt).

Make-Ahead and Leftover Makeovers
Something about corn on the cob tastes best fresh from the oven. But reheating them in the microwave with a little water is a close second.
Make a double batch and cut the corn off the cob when it cools. Then, toss some on a salad, in hamburger vegetable soup, or make tasty corn fritters.
What Pairs Beautifully With Oven-Roasted Corn
Cookout menu recipes are good choices. Pulled pork, easy coleslaw, and baked beans are fabulous starters.

I’m planning to make this and bring it as a side for Christmas dinner tomorrow. Being December, I couldn’t find fresh Corn so I’m using frozen. Step 2 says combine garlic butter and Creole while step 3 says top with garlic butter then brush with creole. I’m confused.
Hi Kim
Great to hear you’re making this for Christmas dinner! Using frozen corn is absolutely fine; it works just as well as fresh corn. Regarding the garlic butter and Creole seasoning, either method described in the recipe will work. You can combine the garlic butter and Creole seasoning together as in step 2, or top the corn with garlic butter and then brush with Creole seasoning separately as in step 3. Both methods will infuse the corn with delicious flavors. It’s more about your preference for how you’d like to layer the flavors.
Enjoy your cooking and have a wonderful Christmas dinner
I tried this recipe for my family, and everyone loved it. I combined melted butter with my favorite spices, and brushed it over the corn. It was easy and delicious, thanks for sharing!

Any guidance on oven roasting frozen corn on the cob?
Thanks!
Sure thing! You do the exact same way, but give it a few extra minutes in the oven because frozen corn takes just a little longer to cook. Happy cooking:heart_eyes:
I do my one cob (wife does not eat it) in a Pyrex dish, 3 minutes in the microwave on high.
Smear butter on the top, no salt. Will now try with some herbs and garlic.
(No salt – I am CKD-3b)
Glad you liked it! 🙂
Family love this 4th of July! Great with BBQ spare ribs!
I’m glad that you love this as much as I do. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
Can you freeze this corn after roasting?
Yes, you can. Have you tried this recipe yet?
Why do cooks feel like they’re also novelists
As they are telling their love stories with the food, that’s why 🙂 Hope you enjoy my recipes!
This looks delicious I am making it right now, unfortunately I don’t have Cajun but made do with what I could (lots of paprika ofc).
Yeah go ahead and don’t forget to let me know how it turns out for you. Much Love!
The instructions says 425 degrees for 20-25 minutes, but the video said 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Which one is it?
If you’d choose to cook it at 425, you need to cook it for 20-25 minutes. But if you want a lower temp, it should be 35 minutes. 🙂
This sounds delicious! If I’m making for 20 people should I adjust the cook time?
Hi there! You can make them in batches. This corn on the cob recipe only requires about 20-25 minutes of baking time while turning halfway through the roasting process. Quick, easy, and downright DELICIOUS!
Thank you for the straightforward recipe for roasting the corn in the oven in its husk. 35 minutes at 350 and it was juicy and perfectly cooked, needed nothing else!
Thank you for sharing, Cecilia 🙂
This recipe comes correct with the flavors! Definitely a must try and has been added to my collection of recipes. Thanks Imma 🙂
Thank you for the feedback, Cece. I’m glad you like it.
Riquísimo! Como todo lo que haces, Imma. Cuidaros mucho. Besitos
Aww … muchas gracias, Wendy. 🙂
What is the green garnish pictured in the recipe? Scallion greens cut/sliced? If so is that after roasting (included in the melted butter & spices)?
Thank you!
Hi Charlotte! It is chopped parsley that is found in the garlic butter :)! Looking forward to you trying out this recipe!
